About Me

I’m Lynn, an adoptee and a counsellor. My work is shaped by lived experience and professional training (MA Integrative Counselling, specialist adoption training, IFS Level 1).

I understand how adoption can sit quietly beneath the surface, shaping identity, belonging and relationships in ways that feel subtle, layered and complex. You might come with questions rather than certainty, or a sense something doesn’t quite fit. Therapy can be a space to explore that gently, and make room for what has felt difficult to articulate or hold alone.

My approach is relational, collaborative and curious. I don’t offer quick fixes, but I offer a thoughtful, grounded presence beside you as we notice what has been carried, protected or pushed aside.

Outside of therapy, I’m usually at the gym, reading crime or fantasy novels, or walking familiar routes near home with a cup of tea afterwards - small, ordinary things that help me slow down and come back to myself.

I work in person in Horsforth, Leeds, and online with adoptees across the UK.

If this feels like the right kind of space for you, you’re welcome to get in touch when it feels right.

Qualifications and Experience

qualifications

Counselling for adult adoptees, and others, who want to explore identity, relationships, and how the past shapes the present.

Alongside adoption counselling, I also support people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal feelings, domestic abuse, and complex family dynamics - the focus of my master’s research.

I specialise in working with adult adoptees, exploring identity, belonging, and the lasting impact of early separation. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those navigating the intersections of adoption and neurodiversity.

I understand that opening up and trusting someone can feel daunting. My aim is to make this process easier by offering a warm, safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space.
