About Me

As an adult adoptee and a qualified counsellor, I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to the therapy room. I understand how adoption can shape your sense of identity, belonging, and emotional wellbeing, not just in childhood, but throughout adult life.
You might be navigating feelings of not being fully seen, struggling to make sense of your story, or wondering why certain patterns keep repeating in relationships. These are familiar places for many adoptees and they’re places I’ve been myself.
That lived experience informs everything I do. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can untangle what’s been buried, explore your emotions at your own pace, and start to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been hidden for a long time.
I work relationally, with a deep respect for your unique story. My approach combines empathy, curiosity, and gentle challenge supporting you as you make sense of the layers of your experience.
I hold an MA in Integrative Counselling and have completed specialised training in adoption support. I’m based in Horsforth, Leeds, and also work with clients online across the UK.
If you’re an adult adoptee looking for therapy, you are not alone. I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on this journey.
Qualifications and Experience
Counselling for adult adoptees, and others, who want to explore identity, relationships, and how the past still shapes the present
In my work, I support people with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal feelings, and the impact of domestic abuse. I also have a particular interest in the effects of family estrangement and complex family dynamics, which was the focus of my master’s research.
Alongside this, I specialise in working with adult adoptees, offering space to explore identity, belonging, and the lasting impact of early separation. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those navigating the intersections of adoption and neurodiversity.
I understand that opening up and trusting someone can feel daunting. My aim is to make this process easier by offering a warm, safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space
